Kussmaul Breathing
Deep, rapid breathing in which the body attemptes to lower blood pH by exhaling large amounts of CO2 (which is acidic) as part of the Carbonic Acid-Bicarbonate Buffer System. Usually seen as a symptom of Acidosis, particularly Diabetic Ketoacidosis.
